Who is responsible for your information

Form & Compass is a trading brand of 昇源（天津）科技有限公司, a company registered in China and the controller of the personal information described in this notice. The company does not use a separate official English legal name.

Current service status

Paid report checkout is offered internationally where PayPal makes the transaction available for the customer's account and location. Form & Compass does not apply its own country or region block at checkout.

Information we collect

If you use a private report questionnaire, we may collect your email address, approximate room layouts, answers about the space and, for a bedroom review, optional photos. We do not ask for identity documents, birth details, an exact home address, exact room measurements or a complete floor plan.

At checkout, we record your email address, agreement to the current terms, and the billing country or region that PayPal may return with the approved order. We use those location fields only for transaction reconciliation, fraud review, support and compliance records, not to apply our own country block. We do not store the street address shown in your PayPal account.

PayPal processes payment details on its service and acts as an independent controller for that payment data. We do not receive or store your full card number. We may keep the payment status, amount, currency and PayPal transaction identifiers needed to confirm an order, prevent duplicate fulfilment, handle refunds or disputes and maintain an audit trail. PayPal describes its processing in the PayPal Privacy Statement.

How we use it

We use this information only to prepare, review and deliver the report you requested, help you access it and protect the service. We do not publish or sell it, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we use information to perform the report contract, comply with legal obligations, and pursue limited legitimate interests such as service security, fraud prevention, support and dispute handling. Optional Google Analytics is based on your choice.

Resend, our transactional email provider, processes your email address, message content—including the private questionnaire or report link—and delivery metadata so that we can send and monitor those service messages. Resend describes its processing in its Privacy Policy. Payment, hosting and email providers process information for their part of the service under their own terms and privacy responsibilities.

Privacy-first site analytics

We use a self-hosted, cookie-free analytics service to understand anonymous page views, referral sources, browsers, operating systems, device types and countries. This data stays on our server. We do not enable session replay or heatmap recording, use this service to identify you, or track you across websites.

We also offer optional Google Analytics. It is not loaded unless you select “Accept analytics.” If accepted, Google may process page addresses, device and browser information, approximate location and identifiers used to distinguish visits. We disable enhanced measurement, Google signals and advertising personalization, and we do not send questionnaire answers, email addresses or photos to Google Analytics. You can continue using the site without accepting.

Storage, international processing and access

Only people who need the information to operate the service can access it. Hosting providers may process basic access logs for security and availability.

The service is offered internationally. The operator is in China, the production hosting service is in the United States, and PayPal, Resend and optional Google Analytics may process information in other locations described in their notices. This can involve international transfers. Depending on where you live, local data-protection rights and safeguards may also apply; contact us using the address above to exercise those rights or ask about the processing of a specific order.

Retention and deletion

Questionnaire answers and original uploaded photos are scheduled for deletion from the active service 90 days after the final report is delivered. The completed HTML report and the minimum access record may be retained for up to 24 months after delivery so that the customer can revisit it.

Operational backup copies are scheduled to expire within 30 days. A deletion from the active service may therefore take up to that additional period to age out of backups; backups are isolated for recovery and are not used for ordinary service delivery.

Minimum payment, refund, dispute, terms-acceptance and order-confirmation records are retained for 30 years from the end of the relevant accounting year to meet accounting-record obligations. We minimize those records to the transaction and contract evidence needed for that purpose. A legal hold for an active dispute, security incident or mandatory request may extend the ordinary schedule; only the records needed for that issue will be retained.

Your choices

Share only the details requested in your private questionnaire. Photos are optional; if you add them, avoid faces, identity documents, screens and unrelated personal items.

You may ask what information we hold about you and request access, correction or deletion. Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, or complain to a relevant supervisory authority. These rights can be limited where a record must be retained by law or for a live claim. Send requests to support@mail.formandcompass.cloud; we may need to verify that the request comes from the email address linked to the order.
